Violin Instructor

Dr. Calvin Dyck

A celebrated concert violinist, producer, teacher, and artistic director, Calvin is known as much for his vibrant personality and sense of fun as he is for his outstanding musicianship.

After an extraordinary 26-year run as Concertmaster of the Vancouver Island Symphony, Calvin continues to inspire audiences through concerts, festivals, and special events. Whether performing on stage, producing large-scale productions, or mentoring young musicians, his passion for music shines through in everything he does.

Calvin is the Artistic Director of Oceanside Classical Concerts in Parksville and maintains an active teaching studio in his hometown of Abbotsford. He is a sought-after adjudicator, and he also conducts the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra.

When he’s not performing or planning the next musical adventure, Calvin enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, spending time with family, and operating the family Christmas tree farm in Mission BC.
