ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE AND TUITION FEES
All students taking private lessons will be charged a $50 non-refundable annual
registration fee per family. The registration fee does not apply to programs like
the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra or Music Together classes. Registration will
not be accepted if past or current fees have not been paid. Lessons will not
commence until registration has been completed. It is understood and agreed
that students (or their parent/legal guardian) shall pay the full tuition for the
number of lessons registered for, regardless of lessons missed. In addition to
covering administrative costs, the registration fee includes free admission to
all ACMS events for students and their families as well as membership in the
Abbotsford Community Music School Society with eligibility to vote in the
Annual General Meeting.
LESSON SCHEDULE
The full school year consists of approximately 38 lessons beginning in September and ending in June. In most cases, no lessons will be taught during
public school holidays such as Christmas Break and Spring Break periods,
or on statutory holidays. These dates are not normally included in the lesson
schedule or on your invoice. Some faculty members may request a revised
schedule. You will be invoiced according to the lessons scheduled for that
faculty member.
PRIVATE LESSON FEES
Lesson fees can be paid as follows: cheque, debit/credit card, E-transfer, or
pre-authorized debit. All NSF cheques and NSF pre-authorized debits will be
charged a $20.00 NSF fee. The school reserves the right to suspend lessons
where an account is in arrears. Payment may be made in full at the beginning
of the year or in nine monthly payments (September to May). Monthly
payments must be received by the last day of the month. Overdue accounts
will be charged a $10.00 administrative fee per month. The school reserves the right to suspend lessons where an account is in

MISSED PRIVATE LESSONS
There are no credits or refunds for student absences. Therefore, there is no reduction in tuition for a missed lesson. Refunds will only be given for lessons missed because of a school closure (e.g. a snow day) or because an instructor cancels the lesson. Make up lessons may be available at the discretion and availability of the instructor, provided that lessons were missed through illness or similar good cause and that a minimum notice of 24 hours was received by the instructor. Re: Missed Group Lessons: The instructor will make reasonable effort to provide homework assignments for lessons missed.
PRIVATE LESSON WITHDRAWAL POLICY
It is understood that upon written notice of stopping lessons, fees for two
(2) more scheduled lessons will be retained, whether any further lessons are
attended or not. ACMS reserves the right to withdraw any course or level of
instruction at any time without notice or liability other than to refund fees
received for cancelled lessons.
GROUP LESSON FEES
Payment for group lessons is due before the class starts for all classes in the
session/year. There are no make-up lessons or deductions for missed classes.
ACMS is not responsible for the safety of music students before or after
attending lessons and/or ACMS events on the school premises and/or any
other event location(s).
