Piano Instructor

Emily Fulkerson

Emily Fulkerson began her piano studies at the age of 5 in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta.  At the age of 13, she began studying with Allen Reiser and completed her ARCT while in his studio. She continued her training at Appalachian State University with Dr. Rodney Reynerson, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music, in Piano Performance.  Emily also studied with renowned artist and pedagogue Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink at Salem College. She completed the Professional Certificate Program in Injury-Preventive Keyboard Technique.

Returning to Calgary in 2013, Emily was active as a teacher of both piano and music theory. As a collaborative pianist, she has worked with students from University of Calgary, Mount Royal University Conservatory, the Amici String Program, and other private studios. Emily enjoys working with vocalists and instrumentalists in many different performance settings including recitals, exams, juries, and festivals. She was also active as a musician in her local church.

Emily now resides in Abbotsford, having recently relocated to BC. She is looking forward to sharing her love of music with students and colleagues throughout the Lower Mainland.
